BJP Alleges TN Election influencing 2G Probe

News Desk BeyondHeadlines

Chennai: Arun Jaitley, leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha and senior BJP leader has alleged that the “timetable of the investigation” is being influenced by Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

Jaitley was speaking here to the media, where he said: “There are serious allegations relating to the favours shown to the DMK, a partner of the UPA. It seems that part of the investigation was postponed. Hence, the timetable of the investigation was being influenced by the TN elections.”

He has alleged that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) did not address the core issue of the loss caused to the exchequer in its chargesheet.

He sees no reason as to why the probe into Shahid Balwa’s money going into firm belonging to the kin of Karunanidhi’s firm should be deferred.

He also alleged that the CBI has bent backwards in saying that prime minster was defied or misled. “I do not think observations related to political clean chits need not be given in chargesheets, which should only deal with criminality,” he added.

Tata chairman Ratan Tata and Nira Radia are today appearing before the Public Accounts’ Committee (PAC) in connection to the 2G allotment scam.
