Hazare Writes to Sonai Gandhi, Complains About Sibal, Digvijay

BeyondHeadlines News Desk

New Delhi: Veteran social activist Anna Hazare, who recently staged a fast-unto-death, has written a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi on the CD controversy.

Hazare said the fabricated CD is an attempt to tarnish reputations. He also said that its objective is to divert attention from the Lokpal Bill.
Last week, media houses in Delhi received CDs delivered anonymously. These CDs contain recording of an alleged phone conversation between Shanti Bhushan, who is the co-chairman of the Lokpal Bill drafting committee of which Hazare is also a member, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Amar Singh, who was a senior Samajwadi Party leader himself till a high-volume fall out with Yadav.

He also slammed senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh.

“One of the general secretaries of the Congress party has been making many statements in the press in the last one week. I assume that he has the support of the party to make such remarks. Most of these statements are factually wrong, which makes one believe whether his only intention is to create confusion, mislead people and derail the ongoing discussions in joint committee. Do you personally approve of his statements?” Hazare writes in his letter.

Targeting Union Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal, Hazare writes in his letter, “A minister indicated at informal meet we had been influenced.”
