BeyondHeadlines  News Desk

Gandhinagar: IPS Sanjeev Bhatt’s plea to defer the proceedings, until he gets legal counsel from the state government, was rejected on Tuesday by the Nanavati-Mehta Judicial Inquiry Commission that is probing the 2002 Gujarat communal riots.

Bhatt requested the commission for a legal assistance for his cross examinations. The Commission rejected his appeal and asked him to “think and answer.”

He had also requested for other call data, and other details. The commission has asked Bhatt to make list information solicited for commission’s consideration.

Bhatt had filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court accusing Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi of allowing “Hindus to vent out their anger… (for) Muslims to be taught a lesson.”
