Nadal successfully defended his French Crown and his no.1 ranking as he earned his 10th Grand Slam of his illustrious career. It’s the fourth time in six years Nadal captured the French open against Federer. The last time two met in 2008 French Open final which had a similar result.

Rafa improved his Paris record to 45-1 and to 17-8 against Fedex. In Grand Slam finals he heads 6-2 against Federer.

For about first 40 minutes it looked like Federer would vanquish Nadal for the first time at Parisian Clay but Nadal came back from 5-2 to win the first set 7-5.

In Second set Nadal started off brilliantly and took a good lead before rain came down on the Court Phillipe Chatier, after the break for a match Fedex looked to have regained something but it was just a matter of 1 hard fought set for him which Federer won after this the Spaniard thumped him in the final set 6-1 to write his name on Coupe de Mousquetaires for the sixth time.

Spaniard had every answer to the Swiss powerful one handed backhand. He repulsed to Federer’s shots with his strong forehand.Nadal’s top-spin especially were a major problem as he tightened his grip on in every game.

Federer’s last game against Djokovic was one of his best tennis game but 56 unforced errors told their own story against his most relentless opponent.

Federer was looking to add to add to his record of 16 Grand Slam singles with an overwhelming support from the Paris crowd who chanted ROGER ROGER and cheered his every point but Nadal had some other plans. Nadal is the second youngest man to reach 10 major titles after Bjorn Borg hold’s this feat.

Federer did played well but not well enough to dethrone the Clay King.
