Moradabad: Tensions erupted in UP’s Moradabad after alleged abuse of Muslim’s holy book Quran.

According to reports, police were on lookout for a suspect eve teaser in a Muslim dominated village in the Mainather region, where they threw all the belongings of the house including the holy book.

Some people protested and pelted stones on the police station. The police retaliated and fired, in which Six persons got injured. One youth is critical. The DIG was also injured in the incident.

According to latest reports ‘curfew like situations’ in the surrounding villages and most have deserted homes in fear of police retaliation.
