50 Bahujan Mukti Party Workers Including its Pune Lok Sabha Candidate Col. Suresh Patil Detained by Pune Police

Condemn Government inaction in connection with threats issue to advocate Mehmood Pracha by the underworld, Demand Forensic Investigation

PUNE: As many as fifty activists of Bahujan Mukti Party (BMP) led by its Pune Lok Sabha candidate Col (retd.) Suresh Patil were detained by the Pune Police on Sunday afternoon. The party workers were demanding swift investigations into the death threats issued to advocate Mehmood Pracha who had recently alleged that Mumbai Police commissioner Rakesh Maria should be arrested for aiding terrorists. The workers gathered at Phulewada raised slogans against the state and central government and demanded a special investigation into the threats issued to Pracha, who is also the lawyer of German Bakery blast suspect Himayat Baig.

The workers raised slogans demanding forensic investigation into the SMS’es and calls made to Pracha by underworld don Ravi Pujari. Patil while addressing media persons blamed the policemen for manhandling him and alleged that even women party workers were not spared. “We are demanding a detailed investigation into one of the most serious cases of the country and the issue cannot be taken up lightly by the government. We will petition all the stakeholders in the government regarding threats issued to Pracha,” he added. Kul Jamati Tanzeem President Anjum Inamdar said that the protests against fascist threats to the constitution of the country by underworld elements will continue and legal action would be taken to ensure justice prevails. Meanwhile, BMP has lodged a complaint against the policemen for manhandling Patil and women party workers. The Khadak Police maintained that action was taken against the party workers as they did not have permission to take out the rally.
