Every political party does have some leaders who command respect even from rival political parties. Example is veteran BJP leader Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In post-poll comments, prominent Congress leader Ajay Maken in his humble media-briefing has pointed towards a big flaw in respect of election-symbols in Delhi elections which might have harmed Aam Admi Party (AAP). Significantly even AAP did not make it a poll-issue.
Ajay Maken rightly pointed out towards resemblance of free election-symbols ‘Torch’ and ‘Shuttle-Cock’ having much resemblance to AAP’s election-symbol ‘Broom’ further commenting that sizable number of AAP’s probable votes must have been wrongly cast to these two free election-symbols Torch’ and ‘Shuttle-Cock’ in earlier elections to Delhi state-assembly in the year 2013, and Lok Sabha elections in the year 2014.
Election Commission should by itself properly look into free election-symbols to ensure that none of these may resemble in any manner to election-symbols of political parties.
