EVMs are the gateway to manipulation of elections and undermining of Democracy: Dr. Prakash Ambedkar

BeyondHeadlines News Desk

Pune : Veteran Dalit leader Dr Prakash Ambedkar had called for an urgent probe into the EVM machinery and demanded that the central and state government must come clean on the issue. It is one of the biggest frauds enacted in the electoral history of the country and people must come forward to put an end to the fascist control of the country and save democracy from the clutches of fundamentalist forces ruling the country.

A massive anti Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) morcha was organised by all political parties here in Pune under  the guidance of veteran Dalit Leader and President of Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh Prakash Ambedkar  which was held at Shaniwarada on Saturday.

The EVM march went through the arterial areas of the city and ended up with a submission of memorandum to the divisional commissioner at the Council House office.

Launching a scathing attack on PM Narendra Modi, political analyst Tehseen Poonawalla on Saturday claimed that a massive election fraud in the name of EVM’s has been undertaken by the Modi regime to undermine democracy. The situation is terrible and the time has come to relabel EVM’s as Every Vote forModi instead of its original nomenclature as Electronic Voting Machine.

Amongst the other dignitaries present on the occasion were former corporators Datta Bahirat, Balasaheb Bodke, Rupali Patil along with Prakash Kanojiya, Mayuri Shinde and office bearers of different political parties.

Poonawalla further explained that the election commission has given a written affidavit to the Supreme Court stating that the EVM’s can be tampered based on a PIL filed by Subramaniam Swami. Today, the EC has taken a contrarian stand which is surprising and questionable. The EC must declare the details of the private company which supplied the EVM machines for the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections, he demanded. Poonawalla further appealed to the masses to turn out in a large number in the future on lines of Jalikattu protests with the aim of compelling the government to come clean on the election fraud scam.

Poonawalla further said that the next elections must be held either on ballot or the EVM’s must have the mechanism of paper trail. It is indeed shocking to see politcal personalities and government figures talking about the winning figure much ahead of the declaration of results which smacks of a conspiracy and needs to be investigated. The state machinery has played the role of an agent for the political establishment in ensuring the win for BJP in Uttar Pradesh and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections, he alleged.
