LEAD MUN 2011 successfully ,managed to simulate three UN councils on
15th and 16th October 2011 in collaboration with the Jaipuria
Institute of Management.Model United Nations has attained the status
of one of the most sought after and engaging co-curricular activities
in educational institutions. Each student attending the MUN as a
delegate has been assigned a country to represent and shall act as the
an ambassador of the same, working towards meeting his/her country’s
interests and keeping them in line with the United Nation’s goal of
maintaining international peace and security.he Security Council shall
take up the matter of self determination with special emphasis on
Kosovo, Chechnya and Kashmir; ECOSOC will discuss the reconstruction
and development of African countries emerging from conflict and the
General Assembly shall center its debate on humanitarian aid in
conflict situations.

MUN isn’t just about debate and deliberation. Like any other
frequently organized activity.New ways of participating and engaging
with an MUN have come up, the International Press and Organizing
Committee experiences being some of the many. LEAD MUN 2011 release a
newsletter on both days of the conference, highlighting and remarking
on the key events of the day. These newsletters were created wholly by
students, right from the official reports to the gossip columns. This
conference has been organized over the short period of one month and
the budget formation, execution and management of LEAD MUN 2011 have
all been headed by college students

Delhi, also called the ‘capital of the MUN world’ is famed for
hosting at least one MUN conference per month and it is only fitting
that students from the Delhi University chapter of the world’s largest
student run organization- AIESEC get together to organize one.AIESEC
in Delhi University has partnered with International Hindu Model
United Nations, Deen Dayal Upadhyay College Model United Nations and
Brainwiz Model United Nations in the past and has the support of the
same for LEAD MUN 2011. The organization has already successfully
delivered three major events in 2011, ‘Discovering Hope’, ‘Udaan’ and
‘Kick for a Cause’ and is set to present ‘The HR Summit’ in
November.Ever since its inception in 1984, AIESEC in Delhi University
has stood for youth leadership and social entrepreneurship. We
endeavor to enrich lives by providing young persons with unique
learning experiences. Through LEAD MUN 0211 we hope to foster a
greater understanding of international concerns among students of
Delhi University and thus enable them to formulate informed opinions
about conflicts and dilemmas that plague the globe, taking the first
step towards leadership’
- Asmita Prabhakar, Secretary General LEAD MUN 2011 & Vice
President Communications and Information Management- AIESEC in Delhi
University.
The MUN circuit of Delhi University is ever growing and the inclusion
of AIESEC in Delhi University in the same marks an important milestone
in Delhi’s MUN journey.
