New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a young boy was gunned down by the son of a Manipur Minister at Kwakeithel area of Imphal District in northeastern Indian state of Manipur.

Ajay Meitei, son of Manipur minister for irrigation, flood control and sports, N Biren Singh, shot dead 21-year-old Irom Roger on yesterday night from a M-20 pistol.

After killing Roger, Meitei surrendered to the police.

According to the police, Metei killed Roger due to the personal enmity between the two.

Scores of people on Monday protested against the brutal killing of the young student. They went to the official residence of the Chief Minister and dubmitted a memorandum demanding immediate action against minister’s son.

Additional security has been deployed at the official residence of N Biren Singh as people from Roger’s locality are planning to march to his residence, police said.
