Anna Hazare Writes Letters to Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi

New Delhi: Seventy-three-old social activist Anna Hazare, who has been sitting on hunger strike demanding a stronger anti-corruption Lok Pal Bill, has written letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

In his letter to the prime minister, Anna Hazare has urged Manmohan Singh to rethink govt stand on the chairmanship of the draft committee and notification.
Hazare has told the Prime Minister that he is not interested in taking up the job of chairmanship of the draft committee.

He has stressed the need for an apolitical person to head the panel suggesting the names of Justice JS Verma and Santosh Hegde to head the panel.

In another letter written to Sonia Gandhi, Anna Hazare has thanked the UPA chairperson for her concern.

He has said, “I am relieved by the concern shown by you for our cause.”

The fasting social activist has urged Sonia Gandhi that the National Advisory Council headed by her should immediately consider redrafting of the Lokpal Bill.
