Kolkata (PTI): The Election Commission on Thursday notified the fourth phase of West Bengal elections in 63 assembly seats of south Bengal.
The notification was issued for 63 seats in Howrah, Hooghly and East Midnapore districts and Katwa and Burdwan subdivision in Burdwan District, Additional Chief Electoral Officer N K Sahana told reporters in Kolkata.
For the fourth phase of the polls on May 3, the last date for the filing nomination is April 14 and last date of withdrawal April 18. Scrutiny would be held on April 16, Sahana said.
Asked about deployment of forces for the fourth phase of elections, Sahana said “The specific number of deployment of forces will be kept secret, but there will be more than adequate deployment so that people can exercise their franchise freely and safely.”
