New Delhi: Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will represent the Congress party at the all-party meeting convened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today to discuss the Lokpal issue.

“Pranab Mukherjee will represent the Congress at the all-party meeting today,” a senior All India Congress Committee (AICC) leader said.

Mukherjee had represented the party at similar meetings in the past.

The meeting will be held at Prime Minister’s Race Course Road residence at 3:30pm to discuss matters related to the Lokpal Bill.

A new draft of the Lokpal bill will be circulated at the all-party meeting, sources said.

Pranab Mukherjee, the government’s chief mediator, will introduce the new draft at the meeting, the sources added.

Several points in the new draft were discussed at the talks between law minister Salman Khurshid and Team Anna members Prashant Bhushan, Arvind Kejriwal and Kiran Bedi Wednesday.

Congress MP Sandeep Dikshit and Pawan Khera, political secretary to Delhi chief minister Shiela Dikshit, were also present to assist Khurshid.

The first round of talks was held between the government team comprising Mukherjee, Khurshid and Sandeep Dikshit and the three members of Team Anna on Tuesday night.
