Addressing a press conference in Patna on October 28th, 2013, Bihar’s former Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Sushil Modi said:
I feel Sunday’s serial blasts in Patna were a conspiracy to eliminate Gujarat Chief Minister and our PM candidate Narendra Modi.
He further stated:
One of the low intensity bombs exploded just 100 metres away from the stage where Modi ji and other senior leaders were present. Imagine what would have happened.
There is nothing original about BJP’s claim that conspiracies are being hatched to kill Narendra Modi. Ever since 2002, if we have to believe Narendra Modi’s policemen, a stream of terrorists starting with Samir Khan Pathan in 2002 till Sohrabuddin in 2005 had come to Gujarat to liquidate the Chief Minister Narendra Modi. How fake these allegations are has already been established by even the Gujarat Police themselves who in their affidavit filed before the Supreme Court in the Sohrabuddin case admitted that Sohrabuddin encounter was completely fake. But Sushil Modi wants us to believe otherwise.
In fact, Mr Sushil Modi has to do a lot of explaining as to why Mr Narendra Modi was taken to Gandhi Maidan in the first place since the risk to his life as per BJP’s own case was not just imminent but real. Was Mr Sushil Modi so daft that he found no connection between the explosions that were already taking place and the event at Gandhi Maidan?
Narendra Modi reached the stage in Gandhi Maidan at 12:50 p.m. on 27th October 2013 and as per Bihar DGP Abhayanand the six bombs had exploded between 9:15 a.m. and 12:45 p.m.

9.30 am — Patna station, platform no.10(washroom)
11.40 am — Gandhi Maidan near Udyog Bhawan
12.05 pm — Regent Cinema
12.10 pm — Old Gandhi statue
12.15 pm — Twin Tower 12.20 pm — SBI office
12.45 pm — Children’s park
The explosion that took place inside the maidan was at 12:15 p.m. Sushil Modi who is a MLA from Bihar and had also been the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and was the chief organizer of the Hunkar meeting was fully informed about the 6 bomb blasts in and around Gandhi Maidan. These bombs were no fire-crackers andSushil Modi was informed about people dying, yet within 40 minutes of the explosion inside the maidan and only 5 minutes after the last bomb blast at Children’s Park at 12:45 p.m, Sushil Modi and other BJP leaders had brought Narendra Modi inside the maidan and had taken him to the dias at 12:50 p.m. It is now being claimed by Sushil Modi that the bombs were planted with the intention of killing Modi.
If that is so, we may ask Mr Sushil Modi, why did he take Narendra Modi from the airport at around 12:00 noon to the stage with the bombs blasting all around Patna? By 12:00 noon, 2 explosions had already taken place which Sushil Modi was well aware of. While travelling from Airport to Gandhi Maidan, 4 more explosions take place. And before they reach the Maidan, one bomb explodes inside the Maidan at 12:15 p.m.Was Mr Sushil Modi pushing Narendra Modi into the jaws of death?
Was is not the security requirement of the Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi who is also the Prime Ministerial Candidate to immediately stop his travel towards the area where explosions were taking place irrespective of what Mr Narendra Modi as a person felt regarding the meeting? Was Mr Sushil Modi also not endangering the life of thousands of people gathered to listen to Narendra Modi?
