A delegation of candidates trained by District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) meet the District Magistrate (DM) of Kishanganj Mr. Animesh Kumar Prashar at his office. The delegation comprised of the members of unemployed trained teacher union namely, Jahangir Alam, Md Maroof Alam, Mirtunjay Kumar, Wasim Reza, Bittu Das and Shamsad visited the DM’s office with the hope of considering their candidature in the teacher’s appointment process of the Bihar government.

In fact, in their memorandum they have highlighted the concern of trained students who are not considered for recruitment process even after completing two years training course offered by DIET.

DelegationatDMofficeSighting the rules and regulations of NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education), Jahangir Alam said that the teacher appointment process is not fulfilling the guidelines of the council. He said according to NCTE only trained candidate can apply for TET.

We have paid to high fees to DIET in order to do the training course for the sake of better future in the area of teaching. However, we are upset with the recruitment process as our valuable time and money seem went wasted.

As per the memorandum the two year training course was started by DIET in 2011, and there are already two batches of passing out students from 2011-13 and 2012-14 sessions.

Ironically the Bihar government had not conducted any TET test before 2013, hence as per the delegation they deserve the appointment along with TET pass out students. In contrary, many untrained candidates who have only qualified TET are considered for candidature in the present teacher recruitment process.

Although, DIET trained candidates too appeared in TET but many of them couldn’t qualify the screening conducted by the state government and presenting strong points in their favour to be part of the appointment process.

After meeting DM, the members of unemployed trained teacher union of Kishanganj unit are next planning to meet the education minister and other concerned from Bihar government with their plea.
