Top US College seeks collaboration with Jamia

New Delhi: Flagler College, Florida, USA has sought academic collaboration with Jamia Millia Islamia to strengthen its engagement with diversity, citizenry and democracy.

Prof. John D.Young, Kenan Distinguished Professor of Liberal Education and History called on Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice-Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia today to explore possibilities of developing a collaborative partnership that would set up an enthusiastic international setting for American students from Florida. The visiting professor spoke at length about JMI’s commitment to diversity that was built into the structure of the institution.

Prof. Najma Akhtar, welcoming the visitor from the US and reminiscing her past experiences that involved forging collaborations and promoting internationalization of Indian education in respect of students, faculty and educational administrators, expressed her desire to develop sustainable collaborations with foreign educational institutions through MoUs that would not only benchmark JMI’s teaching and research processes but would also catalyse the university through the assimilation of best international practices. She said that JMI has the entire wherewithal to showcase India’s strengths best represented through Unity in Diversity.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Mukesh Ranjan, Director, International Relations who coordinated the visit on behalf of the institution.
