Jamia Professor selected by US Govt. to take part in the Exchange Program on Freedom of Religion and Interfaith Dialogue

New Delhi: Prof. S.M. Sajid, Professor of Social Work at Jamia Millia Islamia(JMI) and former Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Registrar, JMI has been selected by the US Govt. to participate in the “Professional Fellows on Demand: Freedom of Religion and Interfaith Dialogue Exchange Program”. He is currently visiting Washington, D.C. Minneapolis (Minnesota) and New York for this program which started from 14 July and continues till 27 July 2019.

Prof. Sajid participated in the 2-day Ministerial to advance Freedom of Religion on July 16-17, 2019. Around 1000 leaders from all over the world took part in the Ministerial and discussed issues and challenges pertaining to Freedom of Religion and Interfaith tolerance and dialogue in different parts of the World.

As part of the program, participants are visiting several organizations, research centers and universities and holding discussions with eminent academicians, researchers and field practitioners both from within the USA and outside.

Prof. Sajid had participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP-Multiregional) on Conflict Resolution in 2008 and visited Washington, New York, Memphis, Arizona and Portland.
