An amazing tale of human survival that defies intellect and logic has emerged from South America’s deadly Amazon forest, as four children, including an 11-month-old baby, were found alive after a plane crash that killed three adults!
There were all the reasons for all the plane passengers to die, but there was no discernible reason for the children to survive the fall from the plane. The 11-month-old baby’s mother lay dead. Neither mother’s breast to suck nor milk in a bottle were available to drink. Yet the baby survived for 17 days, and so did three older children in the dense, dark forest amidst heavy rainfall! What else can one say about this miracle but Allahu Akbar! God is great!
The rescuers believe the four children—aged 13, nine, four, and an 11-month-old baby—have wandered through the jungle in the southern Caqueta Department since the crash on May 1. On Monday and Tuesday, soldiers found the bodies of the pilot and two adults who had been flying from a jungle location to San Jose del Guaviare, one of the main cities in Colombia’s Amazon rainforest. The region has hardly any roads. It is also difficult to access by river, so transport by small airplane is common. One of the dead passengers, Ranoque Mucutuy, is the mother of the four children, who are of Huitoto ethnicity. More than 100 soldiers and sniffer dogs have been involved in the search operation. Three helicopters have been used to help in the search operation. One of the helicopters blasted out a recorded message from the children’s grandmother in the Huitoto language, telling them to stop moving through the dense jungle. Columbian Gustavo Petro announced in a tweet the good news of the survival of the four children. He termed it “a joy for the country.”
Giant trees that can grow up to 40 meters (131 feet) tall, wild animals, darkness, and heavy rainfall made the “Operation Hope” search difficult in the Columbian Amazon forest. Engine failure is reported to be the cause of the plane crash. As Alexander Pope says, Hope springs eternal in the human breast. How did this all happen? Certainly, there is a superpower that controls the universe.
Surely Allah has power over all things. Verse 20, Chapter 2:
It is narrated from Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah’s Messenger (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said:
“Do you know how much the distance between earth and heaven is?” We said, “Allah and His Messenger know better.” Then he (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said, “The distance between them is 500 years, and the distance between one heaven to the next is 500 years, and the dimension of each heaven will take 500 years to travel, and there is a sea between the seventh heaven and the Throne, which has between its lowest and highest ends the distance like that between the heavens and the earth (i.e., 500 years). And Allah the Most Exalted is above that, and nothing is secret from Him of the deeds of Bani Adam (humankind).”

Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) referred to the eternal power of Allah when he said: ‘The seven heavens and the seven earths are no more in Allah’s hands than a mustard seed in the hand of one of you.’
For such a mighty and glorious Creator, saving the four children is a small miracle for us! SubhanAllah!
