Delhi needs Arvind Kejriwal more than Arvind Kejriwal needing Delhi. He is a hope, he is an aspiration, he has committed himself, he has strong convictions, he is resilient, he has the right intent.

“The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”

All my life I have heard the uber-famous line “Iss desh ka kuch nhi ho sakta.” and after all I have seen one man just like you and me, in the way that he realizes the turmoil this country is in and knows what needs to be done no talking, no debates, only action.

There’s no denying that Arvind Kejriwal (AK) of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has generated immense excitement in India and abroad. Here, finally, is an Indian leader who says the things Indians have been yearning to hear. He talks about faster growth, creating jobs, corruption free India, Inflation free India and more transparent government.

Here is a party that has garnered some support cutting across traditional vote banks of caste religion and class, purely on the basis of policy and what common sense says is correct. I believe in Kejriwal because I can see the same anger in his eyes as I have against the bad governance that was provided by all other parties over the past decades.

Kejriwal’s party symbol i.e. a broom itself is powerful and speaks volumes of his capabilities. Well, we must find answer to questions like:

  1.  When was the last time we saw a political party declaring its list of donors?
  2.  When was the last time a party declared that people from the same family will not be given election tickets?
  3.  When did any party publicly hold internal elections for candidate selection?
  4.  Do political parties have the courage to refuse corporate donations?
  5.  70 manifestos for 70 constituencies are being prepared. When did this happen ever? Undoubtedly Arvind Kejriwal exhibits what some describe as ‘servant leadership style‘.

A common man has risen from among us in form of Arvind Kejriwal. Unlike his predecessors, Kejriwal has rejected the VIP culture and stated clearly that he and his ministers will not take the sprawling bungalows surrounded by lush lawns in Delhi.

He plans to live modestly, in a Government flat, if allotted one. He has also declined personal police protection. A wise man once said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. His past can give you a clue to the kind of person he is and the kind of India he envisions “swaraj” and a “corruption free” India.

Delhi needs Arvind Kejriwal more than Arvind Kejriwal needing Delhi. He is a hope, he is an aspiration, he has committed himself, he has strong convictions, he is resilient, he has the right intent. If anybody can transform the society we live in, it is Kejriwal.

However personally, on the basis of political intention alone, it is extremely liberating to finally have a selfless, educated and credible face enter the field of politics. Arvind Kejriwal, we hope you’re here to stay. Arvind Kejriwal is the “Man Delhi Needs” and the “real game changer”!!
