India has assured all possible assistance to Quake and Tsunami devastated Japan.  Prime Minster Manmohan Singh called his Japanese counterpart to show India’s “full responsibility” with the people of disaster ravaged country.

Dr Singh told Japanese PM Naoto Kan, “I would like to convey to you that India stands in full solidarity with the government and people of Japan at this hour.” He expressed his sympathy at the “tragic disaster” that caused unimaginable damage to life and property.

India, itself, has suffered similar disaster in 2004 when Tsunami hit the coastal areas of Tamil Nadu. Dr Singh further extended his “heartfelt condolences” to the people of Japan, who have “suffered and lost their near and dear ones”.

The 8.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Japan yesterday unleashed 10 meter massive Tsunami. More than 1,000 people are feared. More than 45 countries, including Australia, European Union, China, Russia, and United States have already pledged aides.
