Delhi Court Remanded Radhika’s Killer in 4 Day Police Custody

BeyondHeadlines News Desk

New Delhi: A Delhi court today remanded Vijay alias Ram Singh, alleged killer of Delhi University student Radhika Tanwar, to four days of police custody to unearth the entire conspiracy in the case.

Metropolitan magistrate Arul Verma allowed the plea of the investigators that they be allowed to question the arrested man in their custody for collecting evidence in the case.

The mobile phone, used by Singh, has to be recovered, the police told the court.

The court remanded co-accused, Tabreez, Ashraf and Sheku, who allegedly helped the key accused in the offence, to 14 days judicial cusotdy till March 26.

The court said no “serious role” was attributed to the co-accused and hence, their custodial interrogation was not required.

Meanwhile, the key accused, apprehended from Tagore Nagar in suburban Mumbai’s Vikroli at around 11pm yesterday, refused to attend the test identification parade.

Tanwar, 20, was shot dead on March 5 outside Ramlal Anand College in South Delhi’s Dhaula Kuan after she allegedly snubbed Vijay when he had approached her to strike a conversation.

Vijay “nurtured deep grudge” against Radhika after he was beaten up for harassing her and used to tell his friends that whenever he gets an opportunity, he would avenge the humiliation, the police had said.

“Vijay suffers from psychopathic obsession. He used to follow women. He followed Radhika regularly. The immediate trigger was the snubbing of Radhika when he tried to speak to her,” BK Gupta, Delhi police commissioner, had told reporters.
