Jamia to Organise Common Entrance Test From This year in Some Courses

New Delhi: Starting this year, Jamia Millia Islamia, a central university under the act of Parliament, will be conducting a common entrance test for some of the undergraduate courses on offer in its Faculty of Humanities and Languages, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Natural Sciences.
The Common Entrance Test in Faculty of Social Sciences will be conducted across two clusters. One group/cluster will include courses such as Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Arts with Computer Application (BACA), Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) Economics. While the second cluster/group will cover BA, BA (Hons.) in socilogy, political science, psychology, geography, social work, history, hotel management and travel and tourism. The entrance test for both groups will be conducted on June 2. The last date of receiving applications for all these courses is May 5.

The Common Entrance Test in Faculty of Humanities and Languages will cover BA in Arabic, Hindi, Persian, English, Urdu, Islamic studies and mass media. The entrance test will be conducted on June 3. The last date of receiving applications for all these courses is May 4.

The Common Entrance Test in Faculty of Natural Sciences will also be conducted across two clusters. One group/cluster will include courses such as Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Bachelor of Science in Instrumentation (B.Sc. Instrumentation), Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in physics, chemistry, mathematics and B.A. (Hons.) mathematics. While the second cluster/group will cover B.Sc. Biosciences and Biotechnology. The date of the Entrance Test for the first group will be June 3 and for the second group, the dates of the test will be June 2. The last date of receiving applications for all these courses is May 4.

This is the first time that the university is conducting a common entrance test across different undergraduate courses.
