Kolkata: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday paid an unscheduled ten minute visit to state-run Bangur Institute of Neurology here on her way to the office at writers’ buildings.
Banerjee visited the emergency ward and other departments of the Institute and talked to the staff and patients. She also inquired about their problems.
This was the second visit of Banerjee, who also holds the Health portfolio, to a hospital after she visited the state-run SSKM referral hospital on May 24.
She has been making surprise visits after taking over as the chief minister. Yesterday she also visited the South Kolkata based dormitory of Calcutta police.
