New Delhi:  After BS Yeddyurappa it might be the turn of another BJP chief minister to be indicted.

The apex court  today hears the independent report of amicus curiae Raju Ramachandran on 2002 Gujarat riots. The Supreme Court had Ramchandran for an independent report for analyzing and going beyond the report submitted by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Ramachandran met several witnesses, including IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, who filed an affidavit claiming he was present in a meeting that instructed “to teach minorities a lesson”.

The riots had followed the train burning incident in Godhra. The SIT reports on a complaint by Zakia Jafri, wife of slain congress leader Ehsaan Jafri.

In its March 2010 report SIT had questioned the Gujarat CM’s role during the riots.
