Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Leader of Opposition of Sushma Swaraj, speaker in the Loksabha Meera Kumar and the House in unison urged Anna Hazare to end his fast. PM Dr Singh said, “you made your points. It has been registered… life is precious.” The house hence requested him to end his fast. Leader of Opposition assured Hazare that the house will bring an effective and strong Lokpal, even if it requires many amendments.
Dr Singh also stated that all drafts present, including Aruna Roy’s version, will be properly discussed for an effective Lokpal.
