New Delhi: Indian Railways is taking strong measures for the misuse reported in e-ticketing facility including fraudulent claims of e-ticket refunds and issues connected with tatkal, minister of state from Railways, Bharatsinh Solanki has said.

In one of the questions asked on e-ticket racket during Parliamentary question hour, Solanki said that the government is taking measures to check on the improper practices.

One of the important measures is creation of an Anti Fraud Squad by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation to detect cases of fraudulent activity and for exercising constant checks.

Indian Railways has also deactivated Ids and imposed fines against the agents found involved in any fraudulent activity. Besides these, travel agents and web agents of IRCTC would not be having access to tatkal booking and normal booking on the opening day of reservation between 8-9 AM in the morning.

“The powers to field supervisors to flag cancelled trains on the computerized systems have been reviewed and regulated,” Solanki added.
