The accused, arrested on September 13 from Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir for allegedly sending terror mails to media houses claiming responsibility of the blast, claimed he was a major and his father had recorded wrong date of birth in the school record, they said.

Minutes before the start of proceedings for the day, the judge asked journalists to leave the courtroom on the ground that NIA has sought in-camera hearing in the case.

“Only those persons will stand in the court whom I will allow. Please vacate the court,” the judge said.

Later in the day, six commandos of the Central Industrial Security Force and the Delhi Police were deployed at the glass doors of the special court so that people cannot peep inside for watching the proceedings.

Amir Abbas Dev, who was produced in the afternoon, was remanded to judicial custody till tomorrow after he said a lawyer be provided to him to oppose the plea of the NIA.
