BeyondHeadlines News Desk

Jaipur /New Delhi: The police raided People’s Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) activist Kavita Srivastava’s home in Jaipur early in the morning today, when she was not at home.

They came with a search warrant and said that a khatarnak naxalite (a dangerous Naxalite) was being shielded in her house.

She alleged that the Chhatisgarh Police raided the house with the help of the Jaipur Police. The raid was conducted by the Bajaj Nagar police station of Jaipur under deputy SP of our area Rajendra Singh Shekhwat and they also sent police outside the PUCL office. The Chhattisgarh raid was led by one Mr. Memon who was in plain clothes. Memon had got papers from a court for the search.

In a letter written statement Srivastava alleged, “I have been targeted because they know that I have supported the struggle for restoration of human rights violation in Chhattisgarh and the rest of India. I have through the PUCL and other organizations worked against the arbitrary detentions in the State in the name of Maoism. Actually this act was to threaten to me.”
