Beyond Headlines News Desk

New Delhi. Religious groups have once again come strong against homosexuality. Leading muslim organisation Jamat-e- Islami called homosexuality a threat to Indian family system and called it unnatural and shameful.

It should be noted that a Supreme Court bench listening to various appeals filed against ad in favor of homosexuality  has recently asked government to clear its stand on this issue.

Homosexuality is shameful and Unnatural and will destroy our family system and the move to legalize in this country the shameful and unnatural homosexual relations should be opposed by every right thinking man and woman,” said Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind while addressing to media personas in a press meet today held at its Headquarters in the capital.

“The efforts under the pretext of safeguarding personal freedom, are quite immoral and against human nature. Islam unambiguously declares that all such unnatural acts are ‘haraam’ and all other religions also regard it a sin. Legalizing such things will destroy the family system which will result in disintegration of society,” he added further.

Jamaat chief demanded the government of India to correctly represent the opinion of the majority of the Indians and adopt a clear stand in the Supreme Court.

On completing of 10 Years to Gujarat Muslims’ Massacre, Maulana Umari said, “the whole country is ashamed of the naked dance of communalism and fascism, under the patronage of government, which took place in Gujarat in 2002. These disturbances caused the death of over 2000 innocent men, women and children, besides this, thousands were injured, thousands of houses were burnt or destroyed, and lakhs were rendered homeless or displaced.”

Strongly condemning all these barbaric acts, the Jamaat chief demanded that the process of rendering justice to the victims and punishing the perpetrators should be expedited.

He said, “this is very shameful for our country that a considerable number of victims, up to now, have not got justice and are undergoing suffering.”

Maulana Umari said, “Jamaat thanks Allah that through its Islami Relief Committee Gujarat, it spent about Rs. 25 crore and provided to riot victims financial, legal and moral support. In this connection the dedicated workers of Jamaat had to render not only sacrifices but also underwent imprisonments. Because of Jamaat’s legal battle, recently, the Gujarat High Court has ordered that the over 500 mosques and religious places, which were destroyed in the disturbances, should be compensated by the Gujarat government.”

He demanded the Union government to do its best to get the Anti-Communal Violence Bill passed for curtailing violence, making accountable to administrative machinery and assuring compensation to the sufferers. He  said that Jamaat reiterated its resolve to continue its struggle, with the help of good hearted people of the country to procure justice for the sufferers.

Condemning the recent desecration of the Holy Quran by NATO forces in Afghanistan, Maulna Umari said, “the NATO forces have been continuously perpetrating atrocities in Afghanistan and they have once again committed the crime of desecration of the Holy Quran. This is a much uncivilized extremely inhuman and deeply painful act. The criminals should be given exemplary punishment so that this atrocity is not repeated.”

He further said, “the Holy Quran is the scripture sent down by the Creator and Master of the Universe for guidance and salvation of the entire humanity. It is the height of depravity that some people, blinded by prejudice, commit the crime of desecrating it.”

He invites all the people, especially the people of the west, to seriously read ‘this book sent down by their Lord so that they may know how it shows the way to a pious life.’

He reminded the Muslim Ummah to not only read but wholeheartedly follow the book of Allah so that they may practically convey the message of Islam to the World.
