New Delhi. Bhajanpur Village in Forbesganj Block of Araria District in Bihar witnessed most gruesome crime of recent times on 03 June 2011. Villagers protesting against road blockade by a private firm were chased and killed by police. Four people including an eight month old infant and a pregnant woman were killed in the incident.

A gruesome video recording of the incident surfaced few days later and exposed cruelty of policemen. The Video showing policemen jumping and trampling upon the faces and bodies of injured, half dead young men shocked the nation but could not break the silence of Nitish Kumar. The Horrific Video exposed the depths to which state machinery had fallen in name of upholding ‘law and order’ and reality of ‘Good Governance’.

A year had passed but the victims are still waiting for justice. A commission instituted to investigate the matter is yet to submit its report despite it was asked to submit report in six months. No compensation has been granted to the victim families so far.

The Matter is currently in the Supreme Court but Bihar Government is not responding to the SC properly. Four villagers lost their life, policeman caught on camera jumping on the faces of the injured. The Nation witnessed the video but shameless Nitish Kumar did nothing to punish the killers. The reason may be because the police was killing villagers to protect commercial rights of a BJP leader.

On Saturday Organisations including AISA, APCR, ANHAD, CPIML, LJP, JNUSU and others organised a protest at Bihar Bhawan against shamelessness of Bihar government and submitted a memorandum to Governor of Bihar asking him to interfere in the matter.
