‘AAP’ Victory Means ‘None of the Existing’

SUBHASH CHANDRA AGRAWAL

Appreciable poll-gain with maximum vote-percentage amongst any party in Delhi by ‘Aaam Admi Party’ (AAP) is clear endorsement of voters for ‘None of the Existing’ which in other words is popular public demand to convert ‘None of the Above’ (NOTA) into ‘Right To Reject’, an aspect favoured by ‘AAP’. Same trend could be exhibited if ‘AAP’ would have contested in other states also.

No one can doubt personal honesty of Arvind Kejriwal. But everyone knows that many political heavyweights of similar 1977 JP-movement later turned corrupt with some ones including Lalu Yadav even ultimately found place in jail. To effectively check any such trend in future, it is right time to induce ‘Right To Reject’ before coming Lok Sabha elections together with massive poll-reforms to ensure honesty in political system.

It is non-sense to waste public-money on by-election caused by MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan winning from two constituencies. A person must not be allowed to contest from more than one constituency or for both Parliament and state-legislature. A sitting MP or MLA/MLC must resign first from his/her earlier seat before filing nomination for the other.

Such and several other poll-reforms must be ensured before Lok Sabha elections. Ruling Congress in the centre which has little hope left in view of results of elections to state-assemblies, should try for a re-entry into political scene by going for such massive poll-reforms to regain public-support at least to some extent.
