Dear Friends, 

The United Nations Declaration in the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities was adopted by the UN Commission on Human Rights in its resolution 1992/16, 21 February 1992 and by the General Assembly in its resolution 47/135 on 18 December 1992 (http://www.unesco.org/most/lnlaw7.htm). Since then 18 December is observed as the Minority Rights Day globally.

As the world prepares to celebrate Minority Rights Day, BeyondHeadlines is celebrating the Day to reflect on the recent developments, debates, policies and practices in Minority Rights both in India and at the global level. You are requested to send your ideas, comments and/or contribute special articles on any theme related to Minority Rights. Some of the guiding topics are mentioned below.

BeyondHeadlines will publish a series of articles starting from the second week of December. Your opinions, comments and articles will be used in BeyondHeadlines‘ editorial analysis and feature stories. If you do not want your name to be mentioned in our publications please categorically inform us when you email your writings.
