Hamid Dabholkar, son of murdered anti superstition activist Dr. Narendra Dabholkar has demanded action against right wing organisations for spreading venom against his father in terms of writing and speeches. Hamid who visited Pune Police Commissioner Gulabrao Pol, a few days ago, said that fanatics were writing against the teachings of Dr. Dabholkar and were openly defiant of his rational thinking.
“I feel that the state government has let them run amok with their writing and campaign against my father. There is lot of evidence against them and government should not allow such activities which are against reason and scientific thought,”Dabholkar added. Hamid’s comments come at a time when a number of right wing organisations and their prominent members have been interrogated by the crime branch in connection with Dr Dabholkar’s murder.
Dr. Narendra Dabholkar (65) was shot dead by two youth on a motorcycle on the Omkareshwar bridge near Pune’s Shanivar Peth area while he was on a morning walk on Aug 20.
