Examination Department Head Sampada Joshi questioned by ACB in connection with malpractices

PUNE: The Pune Unit of State Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has initiated an open ended inquiry against  the examination department of Pune University, a step which would seriously dent the image of the Oxford of the East.  The ACB inquiry has shaken the wits of the university officials with Vice Chancellor Vasudeo Gade maintaing that he would take a decision in two days. Examination Department Head Sampada Joshi was called to the ACB headquarters for an inquiry on Monday.

ACB officials maintained that the officials manning examination department exhibited criminal like behavior and worked with malafide intentions for economic gains. A number of cases like cash for marks scam, revaluation scam and other examination related problems being faced by college students have been frequently highlighted in the media prompted the ACB to probe the case further.

The ACB has sought all examination related records including copies of complaints received by the university in connection with malpractices in the examination department. Four days ago, the ACB officials met University Registrar Dr. Narendra Kadu and handed over an official letter to him. The ACB inquiry against Sampada Joshi has send shivers down the spine of University staffers said university staffers who refused to identify themselves to our portal.
