Jamia Invites Application for Admission through Distance Mode for the Academic Session 2014-2015

While admission to regular courses has practically come to an end at Jamia Millia Islamia, the Distance Mode option is still open to students desirous of seeking admission to Jamia.

The Arjun Singh Centre for Distance & Open Learning, Jamia Millia Islamia invites Applications for admission through Distance Mode for the following courses on offer:

Masters Courses

M.A. (English), M.A. (Hindi), M.A. (Sociology), M.A. (History), M.A. (Human Resource Management), M.A. (Public Administration), M.A. (Political Science), M.Com., M.A. (Education).

Post Graduate Diploma Courses

Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance & Counseling (PGDGC), Post Graduate Diploma in Geo-informatics (PGDGI),

Bachelors (Undergraduate) Courses

B.Ed., B.A. (General), B.Com., Bachelor of International Business & Finance (BIBF), Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS).

Diploma Courses

Diploma in Electrical Engineering (DEE), Diploma in Power Generation Engineering (DPGE), Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE)

Certificate Courses

Certificate in Computer Hardware in Computer Hardware & Network Technology (CCHNT), Certificate in Computer & Information Technology (CCIT).

Admission to a few programmes on offer at the Centre for Distance & Open Learning, Jamia Millia Islamia is through an Entrance Test such as for B.Ed., Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Diploma in Power Generation Engineering, while admission to its other courses does not require the applicant to take an Entrance Test, and admission to these courses will be done on merit of the qualifying examination.

Some of the special features of the distance learning programmes offered by the Centre for Distance and Open Learning are:

1) The students can study from their own chosen place of convenience.

2) There is flexibility of choosing the combination of courses from a wide range of Disciplines

3) Special printed material known as “Self Learning Material” is provided to the students, which helps them in pursuing the programme through distance mode.

4) Providing Counseling Sessions/Contact Programmes, Workshops, Audio Visual Aids and Practical Experience to the students through Student Support Services by establishing a number of study centres and programme centres.

The Prospectus & Admission Form can be obtained on all working days from Maktaba Jamia Ltd., Jamia Millia Islamia on cash payment (inclusive of Entrance Test fee). The Application Form may also be downloaded from the official website of Jamia http://www.jmi.ac.in Only web downloaded Forms with the Inscription “JMI-WADF-2014” will be accepted.
