Postmortem of MAF Health Project Job Advertisement

Ehtasham Khan for BeyondHeadlines

Maulana Azad Foundation under Ministry of Minority Affairs is revamping its Sehat scheme. Under this scheme, the selected schools/educational institutions will get a doctor and nursing home to monitor the health of the students. Students suffering from serious diseases will get treatment at better hospitals free of cost.

Crores of rupees have been allocated for the project to be implemented across the country. The Foundation is seeking application for the post of Consultants (2 posts) to implement the project. Just see the qualification required for this post.

1. Graduate, preferably a Post Graduate. (It means a graduate can also be appointed. No specialization required for this herculean task)

2. 5 to 10 years of experience required in any govt. office. Salary Rs.35,000 per month. Will work for 5 days week and get just 8 day annual leave. No extra benefit. (I wonder what kind of professional having 10 years of experience will work for such a meager salary.)

3. Applicant should be based in Delhi/NCR. (So bright outstation candidates are barred.)

4. Typing of letter is essential. (A professional social worker/development professional who will implement project worth Rs crores is expected to know typing of letters!)

5. In addition to the implementation of such a huge project, the candidate will be assigned any other work also as required by the secretary of the Foundation.

Post Script: The position seems to have been tailor-made for SOMEONE who will be a mere clerk/peon/personal/private staff for the Secretary of the Foundation. So now we know why all schemes are a failure.
