Mr. Prime Minister, Please break the silence!

Corruption in India is one of the most menacing threats that our economy has been battling with ever since the independence

Corruption in India is one of the most menacing threats that our economy has been battling with ever since the independence. At all levels of Indian bureaucracy corruption has seemingly taken its toll and has been corroding the structure of our nation. Be it private sector or public sector, Indian people have a tendency of misusing the public position/power in their favor to fulfill their motives and gain personal benefits. All these “allegations” are not solely based on observation but have statistical data to back with.

Nowadays a major issue is discussing in the media which is related to our External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj’s name has been dragged into the controversy surrounding grant of visa to former IPL chief Lalit Modi by the UK where the matter is before a parliamentary panel. But Swaraj, who has maintained that she helped Modi on “humanitarian grounds” — to attend to his wife who was undergoing surgery for cancer in Lisbon on August 4, 2014 — has found consistent support from the government and the BJP, which rejected opposition’s demands for her resignation over the alleged “impropriety”.

Congress on Thursday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his “silence” on the Lalit Modi visa controversy, saying he should come out of his ‘meditation’ to answer if Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhara Raje helped scam-tainted former IPL chief Lalit Modi with his consent.

The opposition party stepped up demand for resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and claimed that BJP veteran L.K. Advani too had expressed no confidence in the leadership of the Prime Minister.

“Advani-ji, has obviously said he is not sure about the leadership. He has expressed no confidence in the leadership of the Prime Minister. The ball is in the court of the Prime Minister,” Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan said.

He was referring to Mr. Advani’s remarks on the possibility of a repeat of Emergency that he “doesn’t have faith in today’s political leadership due to its weaknesses”. Mr. Vadakkan said, “The Prime Minister must answer whether the Chief Minister acted the way she did with his consent.

But still the Prime Minister are quiet and do not break their silence, I think the situation is like a urdu couplet “Hazaron jawabon se achchi hai khamoshi meri, na jaane kitne sawalon ki aabru rakhi (My silence is better than a thousand answers, it keeps intact the honour of innumerable questions)”. But the situation is not good for the party or the citizens of India.
