New Delhi: In some sections of media, it has been reported that Centre for Distance and Open Learning (CDOL), Jamia Millia Islamia has been derecognized by the UGC.
But today Jamia released a press release and stated that the reports are totally false and malicious. According to Jamia Millia Islamia, this is fake news.
In 2017 Distance Education Bureau of UGC introduced new regulations regarding distance mode of higher education in the country. Accordingly, all institutions in the country imparting distance mode education applied under a new policy, including JMI. The matter is under consideration by a high powered committee of the UGC. No decision as on date has been taken. The decision is likely to be conveyed by the UGC shortly.
