Following media reports that the incumbent governments “orchestrated” terror attacks on Parliament in 2001 and Mumbai Siege on 26/11 in 2008, Welfare Party of India (WPI) came out as a premier national political party urging Union Govt. to make its stand clear on the issue.

WPI has urged the Indian government to make its stand clear in the wake of reliable revelations that both the terror attacks were fake and state sponsored.

WPI_Dr SQR IlyasQuoting IPS Officer Satish Verma of Gujarat, R V S Mani reportedly alleged that these two terror attacks were “orchestrated” by the then incumbent governments to “strengthen counter-terror legislation”.

Dr. S.Q.R. Ilyas, General Secretary of WPI, recalled a statement made by a Union Minister during a meeting with the All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM) delegation that the parliament attack was fake and a drama.

Many of the explanations extended by the union government, Maharashtra government and various investigation agencies had raised so many questions, remarked Dr. Ilyas.

“As the incidents were of prime importance concerning the security of the nation, in spite of many weak points, the stand of union government and of intelligence agencies had acquired almost wide acceptance. Even the media played the same tune what the government wanted,” Dr. Ilyas reasoned.

Dr. Ilyas said the Home Ministry and Police refused to reveal any detail pertaining to these terror attacks on WPI’s plea under RTI.

The party inquired for details such as if any commission or committee investigated the Parliament attack; copy of investigation report if any available; and details of citizen(s) if arrested, etc.

WPI urged the union government to disclose all details available with it regarding the incident which had opened “an additional chapter in terrorism” in the country.

Dr. Ilyas also noted that the latest revelations have raised serious question and put the government in defensive and doubtful position.

In addition, WPI has reiterated its earlier demand to appoint a judicial commission to investigate all terror related incidents in India, and to publish a white paper in this regard.
