Dalits and adivasis have been fighting for their due rights in India. These unprivileged people, in a recent protest gathering at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanded the government to pass a legislation  for their development.

In addition to a noticeable displayed of strength of unity at Jantar Mantar,  thousands of ST & SC employees and unions from across the country arrived to demand Special Component Plan and Tribal Sub Plan Legislation.

The gathering was addressed by S Krishnan, IAS (Retd.) and Advisor of NACSTL, CPIM leader Srinivas Rao, Ashok Bharti of National Confederation of Dalit Organizations and Dr. Udit Raj, veteran dalit leader and president of All India Confederation of ST SC Organizations.

These leaders stated that if the government speaks of SC & ST community development then it should prove by passing this Legislation during ongoing parliament winter session.

Dr. Udit Raj appreciated Mr. Anand Rao, the organizer of the dharna for awakening the community on economic rights and strengthening this campaign in Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and in rest of India.

All the leaders demanded central SCP TSP legislation stronger than A.P. and Karnataka. Dr. Udit  Raj also informed that people from across the nation will gather on 16th December in Delhi and will demand legislation.
