Akela (T.K. Dwivedi)

RAJENDRA Trivedi, an alert police officer, caught a railway catering vehicle selling foodstuff to outsiders in the city. The Agripada police have seized the vehicle and taking action under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Trivedi is currently posted as the Senior Inspector of Police, Government Railway Police (GRP), Mumbai Central.

On Monday morning around 10am Trivedi was passing nearby Nair Hospital, Mumbai Central. He saw that an Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) vehicle was moving suspicious on the hospital gate. He inquired to the vehicle’s handlers but they failed to give satisfactory answers.

When Trivedi asked the handlers that why they were moving in city they replied that had come for pumping air. But pumping air facility is available in railway premises. Trivedi informed to city traffic police and asked to take them in custody.

“As per rule, catering vehicles cannot move outside railway premises in city. I smell something fishy. I inquired to the vehicle handlers but they failed to give satisfactory answers,” said Trivedi.

At that time Trivedi was in hurry. When he came back found that traffic police had handed over them to city’s Agripada police station. Police charged them under section road safety act 102.
Unsatisfied with action Trivedi asked police to take proper action on them.

Now Agripada police has seized the vehicle and taking proper action under relevant sections of IPC.

During inquiry, handlers told that they were selling foodstuff like milk, eggs, bread, butter and breakfast to the citizens in city and as well Nair Hospital’s staff and patients.

The handlers have been deployed at Rajdhani Express. The Rajdhani Express returned at Mumbai Central. Handlers came outside and were selling remaining foodstuff, breakfast to the outsiders. (Couretesy: http://abinet.org/)
