The Governor of Maharashtra Ch Vidyasagar Rao has expressed grief over the demise of social activist and veteran communist leader Com. Govind Pansare in Mumbai on Friday, 20th Feb. In a condolence message the Governor has said:

“The news of the demise of Com Govind Pansare, who was assaulted by gunmen a few days ago, has caused extreme grief and anguish to all right thinking people.

The assassination of a selfless social worker like Shri Pansare is a dastardly act.

I have no doubt in my mind that the state government will take every step to bring the perpetrators of the crime to justice.

The demise of Com Govind Pansare is a loss for the entire State. I convey my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.”
