Bihar is once again shining on the map of India as one of its proud sons – Ghouse Alam walked away with all the honours at the 70th passing out parade of the Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers at the SVP National Police Academy in Hyderabad on Saturday. Giving a tight resounding slap to detractors of Bihar and the Biharis, the Gaya native Ghouse Alam proved that Biharis are second to none. He was awarded the Prime Minister’s baton, Vice President’s Trophy, Home Minister’s revolver, BSF Trophy, PL Mehta Commandant Cup and Manipur Cup for Law by Union Home Minister Amit Shah at the impressive parade. The immense Bihari talent and skill was on full display as the son of an army man, Ghouse Alam, B. Tech (Mech Engg), marched to thunderous applause while receiving the honours. He is allotted Telangana cadre.
Ms Richa Tomar of Rajasthan cadre is a farmer’s daughter from Uttar Pradesh and holds a Master’s degree in Microbiology. She bagged the best all-round lady probationers’ trophy. Of the total 92 IPS probationers, 11 cadets are from Nepal and Bhutan. There are only 12 women.
Speaking after reviewing the parade and taking the salute, Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that with the abrogation of Article 370, Kashmir has fully become a part of India and the dream of the first Union Home Minister Vallabhai Patel was realised. Amit Shah, as usual, poured out his contempt for His Exalted Highness (H.E.H) the Nizam of Hyderabad for not merging the State of Hyderabad in 1947. He attributed the merger of Hyderabad to the police action under Patel. However, Amit Shah was completely silent on the alleged genocide that followed in Hyderabad following the merger in 1948. He did not mention as to when the Sunderlal Committee report on the genocide, (gathering dust since 70 years) will be tabled in Parliament under the ‘transparent’ Modi government.
Amit Shah advised the IPS probationers to uphold the Constitution and serve the country without fear. Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan, Union Minister of State for Home Kishen Reddy, Telangana’s Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
