Brewing ‘sprawl’ Culture

BeyondHeadlines  Staff Reporter

New Delhi: ‘We Sprawl,’ a Delhi based group of young creative professionals, conducted a cultural extravaganza ‘over a cup of coffee’ at the heritage Indian Coffee House in Connaught Place, New Delhi this Sunday. There was music, photographs, untold stories and fun all the evening.

‘We Sprawl’ is a group of freelance journalists, film makers, event managers, theatre persons and photographers. It was founded in 2010 by three young girls, Sumiran Preet Kaur, Aqsa Anjum and Prabhsharan Kaur.

We just want to give a platform to youngsters who are talented. That’s our only aim,” said Sumiran on the occasion.

The exhibition was a display of talent shown by various students in these workshops. In the past too they have conducted music, theatre, journalism, photography workshops in various schools. Many of these have been with not so privileged students in government run schools.

Vanshika Sahni, a spectator at the exhibition was awed by the ambience at the venue.  “We had beautiful photographs, lovely music by these children. It was really enjoyable. We were surprised to see little kids perform like professionals,” she said.

Aqsa of We Sprawl said, “We salute the talent in these young aspiring students.”
