New Delhi: Giving another setback to the Narendra Modi government in Gujarat, the Supreme Court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the probe into the Tulsiram Prajapati fake encounter case from Gujrat Police.
The CBI said that Prajapati was abducted by Gujrat and Rajasthan Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) along with Sohrabuddin, who was killed in a fake encounter. The court came down heavily on the Gujarat police and blamed it for tardy investigations in the killings.
The judges made a scathing remark on the state police accusing it of delay in filing of charge sheet after the killings.
