Human Rights Law Network Haryana (HRLN) has planned to organize a two-day national level consultation on Dalit rights on 9th and 10th November in Hisar, Haryana.
The event will see participation of human rights defenders, activists, advocates and social workers fighting against inhuman atrocities committed continuously upon Dalits in the state.
This national level meeting will bring together local Dalit activists, Dalit lawyers, victims of caste atrocities and other key stakeholders from many Indian states.
It will pave the way for building and strengthen of a robust network of Dalit lawyers and activists in the state of Haryana. In addition, a concrete action plan is expected to be developed over these two days outlining issues for PILs and wider campaigning on Dalit Rights issues.
Implementation of the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act would be one of the key areas of focus in the consultation.
“The Dalit Society is passing through very-very critical times in Haryana state these days and so the importance of this historical seminar increases automatically,” stated HRLN Haryana in a press release.
The organization has invited all interested persons to participate actively in the proceedings of the seminar, which would be held at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Hostel, Haridas Colony, Near Sector 16&17.
