Ashish K started a campaign at Change.org to support Anima Muyarath demanding her suspension to be revoked for offering Facebook posts about gender discrimination in the Lawyers’ Bar Association of Kozhikode, Kerala.
Anima, a young female lawyer, put up Facebook posts about gender discrimination in the Lawyers’ Bar Association of Kozhikode, Kerala. The Bar Association suspended her for it. Later, she was asked to apologise at the General Body meeting of the Association. But she bravely refused to do so, then they verbally abused and threw chairs at her.
After this situation, the fellow lawyer of Anima, Ashish K strongly feels that her suspension should be revoked. That’s why he started this petition on Change.org asking the Secretory of Bar Association, Kozhikode, Tenison Joseph, to revoke Anima’s suspension. Because suspending her is an act of gender discrimination as well. It is also an attack on her Fundamental Right To Speech an Expression.
Kozhikode Bar Association should support lawyers like Anima who stand up against injustice. It is also their responsibility to stop gender discrimination at the Bar Association.
