Chief Justice of India P Sathasivam deserves all compliments for not allowing printing of his photographs in government-advertisements on 26.09.2013 released for providing an exclusive PIN code number 110201 for Supreme Court where he was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The said newspaper-advertisements however carried photos of Union Law Minister Kapil Sibbal, Union Communications Minister Milind Deora and Union Minister of State for Communications Dr Killi Kruparani.
Chief Justice of India should now take sue-motto cognizance of such wasteful expenditure of public-money only for sake of photo-publicity of political rulers. People of this nation see a ray of hope for such wrong-doings of political rulers only from Supreme Court which only can direct and/or pass strictures for discontinuing with unhealthy practice of image-projection of political rulers at cost of hard-earned money of tax-payers.
Delhi Chief Minister should altogether ban printing photographs of political rulers and other living personalities in government-advertisements, application-forms and all other items purchased from the public-exchequer. The then Delhi Lokayukt Manmohan Sareen had in his report criticized for printing photos of the then Chief Minister and a Minister of Delhi on application-forms for ration-cards.
Any subsequent government in Delhi will face strong criticism from media and public if trying to undo such and other reformative measures signed by Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister, which rather can become a national trend-setter preventing wastage of huge public-money in an ugly race for self-publicity and image-projection by political rulers through multi-page newspaper-advertisements.
