Inauguration of Ten day Urdu Book Fair in Malegaon

Malegaon: Minority Affair Minister K. Rahman Khan inaugurated that 10-day Urdu book fair program in Malegaon today. Which is launched by National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL). There were many guests in the program like Tom Alter, Shahid Lateef (Editor of Urdu Daily Inqalab, Mumbai), Abdul Zaheer Qadri (President of Anjuman-e-Islam), Mufti Ismail (MLA of Malegaon) etc.

K. Rahman Khan flagged off an “Urdu Carvan” before inaugurating the Urdu Book Fair which was attended by over 50,000 people of Malegaon including school students with banners and slogans for the development of Urdu language. Everyone emphasized on the importance of Urdu language. In which, firstly Indian actor expressed his love for Urdu and addressed the audience in Urdu language. Then, K. Rahman Khan set that there should be a campaign for demanding the primary education in Urdu language. He asked the crowd, “We all say we are working promotion of Urdu language.  Then we also blame other for ignoring the language. But the question is what have we actually done for its promotion?  It’s the opportunity for all of us to analyze the injustice we have done to the Urdu language and make corrective measures”.  He further addressed the audience, “the constitution has given the necessary protection to the Urdu language. Have we ever used this right of our mother tongue? Never”. He totally emphasized at Urdu education and said that the Muslim community should give stress at the education by which they can be developed. He also pressed the people of Malegaon for their cooperation and devotion for Urdu language and said that it proves that Urdu language has a bright future.

Over 50 publishers from different parts of the country have showcased the books of different titles in 62 stalls. And everyone expressed their desire for creating a history by making this fair successful.
