Golden Shoes for the Golden Man

Famous sportswear brand Nike has released its Cristiano Ronaldo 2014 Special Edition Boot which Ronaldo will wear during the Copa Del Rey (Spanish Cup) final against Barcelona football club on April 16, 2014.

The Portuguese superstar has enjoyed a marvelous campaign wherein he averages more than a goal a game, and became the fastest to reach 200 goals for his club Real Madrid.

Ronaldo’s exploits on the pitch in 2013, where he scored 69 goals for both his country-Portugal and his club Real Madrid, saw him walk away with the most coveted trophy in Football-Ballon’d’Or (FIFA Best Player of the Year) 2013 for the second time in his career.

Earlier this year he was also honored with Grand officer of the Order of Prince Henry, one of the most prestigious honors in Portugal by the country’s President.

In a gesture of respect and to pay tribute to the Madrid’s winger’s achievements, Nike is giving out 100 pairs of limited edition of boots priced at $310 (235 Euros), available only at its exclusive website.

The new Nike Mercurial Vapor IX boot comes in a colour combination of black and white, with gold plated sole, including the golden spikes. With a specific number from 001- 100 on the heel, each boot is laser etched with the softer outsole covered in gold.

To add even more coolness to the boot, Nike have equipped Ronaldo’s signature on the insole in golden letters.

His superb technical skills, unmatched speed, blistering runs down the wings and to end with that he unleashes his predator and accurate shoots to score a goal makes him the best football player on planet, now with so many accolades already in his kitty for the year 2013, Nike has made him the man with the ‘Midas’  touch.

The already classy boots will become more classy once they are worn by Ronaldo and when he makes one of his blitzing runs, the shining gold will add more spark. It would be interesting to see how these gold’s will compliment the golden man in the Copa Del Rey (Spanish Cup) finals on 16th April against Real Madrid’s bitter-rivals Barcelona. However, Roanldo is currently injured and he is racing against time to get fit before the cup final, until then he will miss a game and his supporters will have to wait to get a glimpse of golden man in golden feet.
